Yoga

Abby’s unique approach to yoga combines mindfulness, intentional breathing, and movement to build the student’s awareness and physical strength. Classes are intelligently designed to help students learn about their body and what feels most aligned for their individual practice.

What is it like to do yoga with Abby?

When you take yoga with Abby you’ll feel empowered & supported to create your yoga practice. Abby’s highest intention is to help each person feel more peaceful and more connected to their spirit. Each practice weaves together the physical, energetic, and emotional bodies so that students can feel more present with their wisest selves.

Each practice with Abby has an intention, which serves as an anchor for the student’s attention. Breathing techniques, or pranayama, help students to focus and balance their energy. Student’s are guided through a thoughtful, safe, and challenging sequence, and given the tools to make informed choices for their bodies, spirits, and hearts. These tools help the student to increase their ability to feel - and to use their moment-to-moment experience to make deliberate & mindful choices.

This is the signature of Abby’s distinctive style. Add to all this Abby's extensive knowledge of anatomy, bodywork, and biomechanics, and find yourself led safely on a journey through your body and into your moment-to-moment experience."

  • “When I first started taking Abby’s classes, I had to be the student in the front, I had to be the student getting into the deepest pose, and above all, I had to be the best. Then Abby set powerful intentions and wove breathing into her sequences. I began to realize that cultivating ease and struggle free movements allowed for a deeper and more meaningful connection with myself. I can directly apply those tools that Abby has carefully, lovingly, and creatively embedded into her teachings in a way that not only works but has a lasting impact on my life.”

    — Alyson, Washington DC

Abby was a huge factor in helping me decide to pursue teaching yoga and I attended her teacher training in 2018. Abby’s expertise in anatomy and sequencing as well as the nuances of the business and ethics of teaching yoga, show her true knack as a teacher’s teacher. Abby creates a fun, non-judgmental atmosphere in all her classes and is truly passionate about what she does. ”
